APPRECIATED SECURITIES & REAL ESTATE

Give Appreciated Securities or Real Estate that are deductible at Fair Market Value. This type of gift avoids any income taxes on the appreciation if you had sold them.

DONOR ADVISED FUND BENEFICIARY

If you have a Donor Advised Fund with a Community Foundation, you can include the Humane Society Foundation for Oneida County as a Beneficiary.

RETIREMENT PLANS & IRA’S

By naming the Foundation as a Beneficiary of your Retirement Plan or IRA, your donation comes directly to the Foundation and the amount is not included in your Estate. Also, if, while alive, and you are subject to RMD (Required Minimum Distribution), you can make contributions directly to the Foundation, it is not counted as income to you and it does count as part of your RMD for the year.
